Automation, T-slot and LED work is modular by nature. The profile is a platform: it gets cut, drilled and reconfigured repeatedly over its life, so the section geometry and the cut tolerances matter more than almost anything else.

Profiles as a platform

T-slot and automation framing is bought by the metre and assembled by the integrator, which puts the burden on cut length accuracy and slot consistency. Tight-tolerance sawing and tube laser cutting let holes, slots and end profiles be produced in one setup, so the sections arrive ready to bolt together.

LED housings are a different problem: the extrusion is doing thermal work as well as structural, so wall thickness and fin geometry are part of the electrical design. Getting the profile and the thermal target reviewed together is usually more productive than optimising either alone.

In automation framing, the cut length is the tolerance that matters.

Materials and finishes

Profiles for every industry we serve are extruded from 6000-series alloys and finished in-house. The right combination depends on the loads, the environment and how visible the part is.

6063 and 6060
General-purpose and detailed sections with excellent surface quality — the usual choice where the part is seen.

Dajcor Aluminum operates multiple extrusion presses, including two 9-inch 2800-ton presses, one 8-inch 2800-ton press, and one 7-inch 1650-ton press. These presses allow us to manufacture a wide range of aluminum profiles for structural, architectural, automotive, and industrial applications.

Our extrusion capabilities support profiles with a circumscribing circle diameter (CCD) of up to approximately 11 inches, with extrusion lengths of up to 28 feet, depending on the profile design and alloy.

During the design and quoting stage, our engineering team reviews each profile to confirm compatibility with our press capabilities and to ensure the extrusion can be manufactured efficiently while meeting dimensional and performance requirements.

Early collaboration helps optimize profile design for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and long-term production success.

Minimum order quantities for aluminum extrusions depend on several factors, including the profile design, alloy selection, and the weight of the extrusion profile.

Depending on the profile size and weight, production may be scheduled on one of our extrusion presses. For many profiles, typical minimum order quantities range from approximately 500 kg to 1,000 kg.

During the quoting stage, our team reviews each project to determine the most efficient production quantities based on the specific requirements of the application.

Lead times for custom aluminum extrusions can vary depending on factors such as profile complexity, die production, finishing requirements, and order volume.

For mill-finish extrusions using existing tooling, typical lead times are approximately two weeks, although this may fluctuate depending on production scheduling and seasonal demand.

New projects that require die manufacturing, sampling, or additional finishing processes may require additional time. Our team works closely with customers during the quoting and design phase to establish realistic timelines and ensure efficient production scheduling.
